| Purchase Policies, Terms and Conditions, and 90-Day Limited Warranty Placing an Order. Please Read Paragraph Below Carefully. To place an order, fill and then send the Order Form by pressing the "Send OrderForm" button at the bottom of the page. Victorian Steam ( a.k.a. jwdunnbaroque@yahoo.com) will then E-mail an "Order Confirmation" message acknowledging the order, with a link to a web-hosted (Yahoo!) invoice / form for the buyer (.html format) meant to be opened with a web browser (Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox / Safari / Opera). This form shows the order number, item description, and correct purchase amount including taxes and / or shipping details if applicable. The form will also include a PayPal button pre-configured with the correct purchase amount and shipping costs. Pressing the PayPal button will direct you to the PayPal site for immediate payment processing (i.e. PayPal payment as usual, read paragraph 6 below). This additional step, while cumbersome, ensures that the buyer and the seller initiate communication with details on item availability, special requests by the customer, details of the transaction, and details on shipping policies before the buyer makes any payments. Terms and Conditions 1 A payment applied toward purchase is equivalent to a signature in a legally binding contract. FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED TO PROCESS AN ORDER. Failure to present full payment may result in a rejection by Victorian Steam (a.k.a. jwdunnbaroque@yahoo. com, the Seller), and funds being returned to Buyer. By sending a payment applied toward a purchase, the Buyer accepts all terms and conditions outlined below. 2 You, the Buyer, may purchase only if you are 18 years of age or older. Otherwise, you can participate if you are supervised by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18. 3 NINETY (90) DAY LIMITED WARRANTY JOHN WILLIAM DUNN D. B. A. VICTORIAN STEAM D. B. A. jwdunnbaroque@yahoo.com MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED REGARDING WORKMANSHIP OR MATERIALS EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY CONTAINED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Workmanship and materials are guaranteed to be free from defects for Ninety (90) after delivery of order. It is understood by the Buyer that the items sold by JOHN WILLIAM DUNN d/b/a VICTORIAN STEAM may have small dimensional and aesthetic variations or imperfections arising from the fact that they are hand-made. No two items, even if advertised as having the same design will ever be identical due to their hand-made or assembled nature. Not responsible for consequences arising from the mis-handling or mis-use of the product(s) sold by JOHN WILLIAM DUNN d. b. a. VICTORIAN STEAM. Warranty claims will be resolved between BUYER and JOHN WILLIAM DUNN d. b. a. VICTORIAN STEAM . The remedy provided by this Limited Warranty will consist solely of the repair of workmanship or replacement of the item(s) sold. Misuse or damage of sold item(s) by the BUYER after delivery will void any warranty claims. Defective items can be returned only if there is a functional failure due to technical faults in the manufactured components that comprise the item or items (e.g. faulty motherboard in the computer case) which can be demonstrated by the buyer not to be caused by the buyer's mis-use of the item (e.g. touching the motherboard components without static electricity protection, thus causing one or more electronic components to fail or be destroyed by the static electricity). If the buyer can't demonstrate that the fault is due to defective materials, components or workmanship, then the item will be returned to the Buyer and the Buyer will be responsible for the shipping costs. 4 Shipping Methods, Handling and Manufacture Lead Times Shipping occurs only after payment has been received by the buyer through PayPal (read paragraph below). Only one shipping option will be offered for ecpensive items above $450 USD (for the time being Federal Express /Fedex) and the nature of the shipping method will depend on the particular item being sold and the location of delivery. This rigid policy is based on the fact that some couriers are more reliable and careful than others, and Victorian Steam always strives to deliver the items in the best condition possible to the Buyer. For lower priced items United States Postal Service (USPS) "Priority Mail" Flat Rate service will be available as well, with Delivery Confirmation being standard. Additional services such as insurance and signature confirmation must be purchased separately. Please note that DELIVERY CONFIRMATION NUMBER is equivalent to a TRACKING NUMBER for United States Postal Service. Items IN STOCK will ship between 24 to 48 hours after receipt of payment (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) to allow proper Packing and Shipping procedures. Sometimes 24 to 48 hours of additional time are requested if the Buyer orders an additional feature to be installed to the purchased product. For Non-stock items additional manufacturing times and handling times are specified depending on the item. For example, 2 to 7 working days of lead manufacture time will be specified to the Buyer as a condition for sale (depending on the particular item) if the sale item is out of stock and needs to be manufactured upon order placement, but greater times may be necessary if the item is a special commissioned item not offered in the array of products displayed in this store. 5 PayPal Payments . For the time being, only payments through PayPal will be accepted. PayPal does offer payment options that span most major Credit Card companies, Direct Deposit and even Electronic Checks. 6 Nature of PayPal Service and Customer Protection PayPal acts as an intermediary bank between the Buyer and the Seller. PayPal policies guarantee that at no point in time does the Seller have any access to any payment information or personal information of the Buyer and vice versa, that none of the personal information of the seller is available to Buyers on the Internet. Said policy protects the Buyer and it also protects the Seller. 7 PayPal procedures for amounts larger than $2000.00 USD Generally, PayPal will accept direct credit card payments without requiring the buyer to have an account, but the Buyer must be aware that transactions involving large amounts of money may require the Buyer to open or have a valid PayPal account of his/her own as opposed to just paying with a credit card directly; this is due to the fact that beyond a certain limit, PayPal will require the Buyer to transfer money from the Buyer’s credit card (or bank account) to the Buyer’s new PayPal account so that PayPal may then relay the money to the Seller's PayPal account. For example, the customer, Jane Buyer, makes a transfer of money from Jane Buyer's credit card to a new PayPal account called “jane_buyer@google.com.” Then PayPal acting as a bank, transfers the money to Victorian's PayPal account. The transaction may take 3 working days. Then Victorian Steam is notified that the transfer took place, at which point the order is processed sending immediate notification to the buyer (PayPal sends their own receipt as well). It seems complicated but the process is actually very easy and secure. |
